13th at Lucas Oil to start off ‘25 campaign
The season started with a trip to western Missouri to the ‘Diamond of Dirt Tracks’; Lucas Oil Speedway. This place, historically, has been really good to us. The smooth and slick surface fits our driver well. But starting off the season with a new front end was a tall task.
In the heat race, B.J. finished 4th (due to the winner of the heat race being disqualified). With Lucas Oil using passing points, we were slated to start 10th in the feature. B.J. found himself moving around the track to just see what the car could do. He lost three spots and narrowly stayed ahead of race leader, J.C. Morton, to finish on the lead lap.
Competitive? No. Fast? Somewhat. But that wasn’t the goal. The goal was to learn. Learn how the car raced on American Racer tires, and to use those notes on Hoosier tires for back home. B.J. did a great job to not put a scratch on the car, stay out of trouble, and to have a good time. We will be aiming to race at the Brownstown Bullring on March 16th for the First National Bank of Brownstown Night!
